Travel documents

Valid travel document is essential
Dear passengers!

We expressly point out that a valid travel document (valid passport or valid identity card for EU, EEA and Swiss citizens) is absolutely necessary in order to travel with the Twin City Liner.

There is currently a temporary reintroduction of border controls at the internal border in accordance with Articles 25 to 29 of the Schengen Border Codex between Slovakia and Austria. For this reason, the operator of the Twin City Liner (transport company) is legally obliged, among other things, to verify

- the identity data of the transported people

- and the data of the documents required for entry (type, number, period of validity and issuing country of travel documents and any authorizations required for entry)

and to keep it available for information to the border control authority within a period of 48 hours after the arrival of the means of transport and to provide this immediately upon request free of charge. The transport company must then delete the data (§ 111 Fremdenpolizeigesetz).

For this reason, we are obliged to digitally record travel documents for trips from Bratislava to Vienna. This is of course done in compliance with all data protection regulations.

The responsible party for processing is Central Danube Region Marketing & Development GmbH, 1020 Vienna, Handelskai 265, represented by Dr. Gerd Krämer and Mag. Franz Zarka. The data protection officer is Mag. jur. Siegfried Gruber, CSE (O.P.P.); datenschutz@wienholding.at.

Reference is made to the existence of a right to information on the part of those responsible about the personal data in question as well as to correction or deletion or to restriction of processing or a right to object to processing as well as the right to data portability. Since the processing in the present case is based on a legal obligation (§ 111 Fremdenpolizeigesetz) of those responsible, these rights of persons affected by the data processing (passengers) can only be asserted within the framework that does not result in the complete fulfillment of the legal mandate by the responsible party becoming impossible.

We thank you for your understanding.

Your Twin City Liner Team
